This week my sister shop, TAKE OFF YOUR CLOTHES, is listing some new fall-winter items while working on the TOYC spring-summer collection.
First, the double t-shirt dress is now offered in navy:
I have one in dark grey, and it has been very good to me during these chilly fall days.
There are some other reasons I love this jacket:
-It's got a 2-way zipper in the front.
-To quote Ben J.: "2 crew neck sweatshirts reconfigured : neckline = armhole, one sleeve = collar/hood, one sleeve divided = deep cowl pocket + sleeve extension"
Also, it is very roomy like a poncho, but it rises up in the front and back. That way, your legs still get seen and have some length.
Ben will be listing some other items, so keep an eye out!
Back to work for us!

I am very excited to share with you the photos from Ben J.'s shoot this past weekend.
These are only some of the looks for Take Off Your Clothes fall-winter '09 look book.
I'm in love with these photos and the clothing. They're both sexy and eerie.
The photos were taken by a very talented NYC-based photographer named Meg Wachter. (Check out her site.)
And I hope I'm lucky enough to work with her in the future!
A Cubist Literature look book is in the works, friends...
SELF PORTRAIT THURSDAY!
6.20.09
Couldn't sleep last night.
Not for bad reasons. Just couldn't.
And couldn't wait until morning.
So, I got up at 6AM.
And didn't look back once.
Sorta bummed today because I have to go into Manhattan. It's been about a month, I believe, since I was last there.
If you haven't noticed or picked up by now, I try to stay in Brooklyn.
Brooklyn is so much nicer.
It's not jam packed with people. You can take a stroll on the sidewalk. It's not snooty. And you don't feel like you're walking in some advertisement.
BUT there are some supplies I have to get.
And I have to meet with the photographer to get my photos.
I have some great news concerning Ben J. and his line, TAKE OFF YOUR CLOTHES.
His work is going to be carried at Oak, a very nice designer store (leaning toward avant-garde/experimental design) here in NYC. There are several things I currently want to own from Oak.
And it'll be nice to see Ben's work where it belongs.
If I wore dresses, I'd wear light, comfortable ones like this:
This can be made in different sizes, too. There are also different color combinations available in his shop.
It's very creative and very awesome.
Just like him.
Dear friends and blog readers,
So sorry I haven't been around much lately.
Ben J. and I have been REALLY busy getting ready for the Renegade Craft Fair.
It ended yesterday, so now I'm all yours.
Here are a couple of photos of our booth:
I didn't make as much dough as I had hoped---there were a lot of silkscreened t-shirts being sold at the fair so I guess it's hard to stand out---but Ben did really well! I'm really happy for him. His work was very popular. =)
What I'm really proud of is this knit rubberband tank dress (plus eyeless ski mask) I made and put on display. Check this lady out:
I didn't think it would have made that big of an impact, but it did and I'm glad!

Ben J. (aka TAKE OFF YOUR CLOTHES) made it for me. I want more. They're awesome just like he's awesome.
Currently listening to the Slits a whole bunch, specifically the Peel Sessions AND ESPECIALLY SPECIFICALLY their second album "Return of the Giant Slits". It's weird and they seem to be in their own world; I like it.
I'm in the middle of working on a back to school mix tape for this mix tape club I was invited to be a part of. It's a secret Santa sorta thing.
I somehow have two (sometimes three or four) copies of every mp3 on my hard drive. Really frustrating. I don't know how that happened.
Crompy's going back to the UK soon, and that means I'm going to kill myself soon.
Ben J. has revived his Etsy shop: TAKE OFF YOUR CLOTHES!
Now I know he's my good friend and all, but he really does have a lot of talent and a good mind. And I'm glad to know him.
When we went to the free Santogold in Central Park (last month?), he wore the fabric chains he makes (chains made of fabric and stuffed with poly fill) and a lot of people reacted favorably. I was really surprised/impressed. People kept coming up to him and asking where he got them and touching them.
I think that made me want some of my own. (Am I that kinda person? Apparently!)
So, I asked him to make some fabric chains for me.
And he did.
And I'm very happy with my chains:
Anywho, I'm glad he is sharing his creations with the world again. =)
On Saturday afternoon, I went to Astoria Park by myself and ate an ice cream cone and did a crossworld puzzle and walked around. It was such a nice day out. And it was a nice to be in an area in NYC that isn't all concrete. It was just filled with people who were relaxing and chilling out.
I sat by the water.
In other news, I spent most of yesterday indoors (except the morning time when I had to walk to the hospital---don't ask). Last night while listening to pipe organ compositions and the Beach Boys, I made a paper model polyhedron. But first I pasted some strips of paper onto the pattern.
It was a cubic shape, of course.
It's not the best because it was the first time I'd ever made one of these shapes.
But I hope to keep making them.
It was nice.
