I don't like the way things are right now... too stressful.
People fucking suck. A lot. Bastards.
The end.

Mr FD phoned last night. He did not phone the night before - he was too busy having cocktails dahling with the Governor of Tasmania and getting a tour of Government House.
He is certainly going to feel as though he is slumming it when he gets home!
I suspect that the poor Tasmanian Governor is so bored and perhaps has so little to do, that he meets and greets and takes drinkie poos with every conference in town! I do not think a group of agronomists and seeds men/women would have lightened his existence all that much.
I was already jealous that he was in Tasmania (land of the beautiful) and now getting a tour of Government House has tipped my scales into jealousy! He can have the cocktail circuit, not my thing, at any time.
Oh the life of an ordinary plebe!
Do you ever just feel like you're in a slump??
(I hate it when you get to feeling that way.)
Lately I have just felt like nothing I planned is going my way.. but whats funny is that its all in God's timing.
I was thinking about my summer and how it went..
I had alot of fun and there were a couple adjustments I had to make, none that were easy but they were neccessary.
I love it when you get so caught up in a situation and try to figure out how to make it right... but what I had to learn was that I need to trust in God at those times and not give up. I have to give Him thanks for what he has already given me.
He is so good!
Went to 'Art after Dark' last night @ the NGV, they had a speakeasy setup, with a vaudevillian strong man and follies girls, and an exhibition with lots of featured items from the Victoria and Albert Museum
Oh, plus, the award this week for best line has to go to junior executive Ken Cosgrove (who, let's not forget, is supposed to be the one who's been published in The Atlantic), while explaining to their boss that the woman he saw with their client the previous night is actually a hooker:
"I have her number, if you're interested." (Sneaky pause.) "I have lots of numbers."

For those of you in the Netherlands, some Suncatcher Eyes are now available on a local website. I am thrilled that Koekeridoo will be carrying Suncatcher Eyes.
If you haven't checked out Koekeridoo, please do. It's a fun site to visit even if you don't speak Dutch (you can use Google translate), and it's even better if you do speak Dutch :) Tess at Koekeridoo offers everything you could possibly want for amigurumi making, and she makes the most adorable amigurumi giraffe and cows!
Just under a month to go now in Carate. Getting really excited to get away from patrolling for awhile, not walking 10plus kms a day, not being constantly covered in sand and bug bites and sweaty and getting into the indulgent life of backpacking! As much as I love the turtles, the project definetely starts to wear you down after awhile. I escaped to Puerto Jimenez again today and ate a bagel with an egg, garlicly cream cheese and bacon for lunch! AMAZING! I enjoy rice a beans but varity is a wonderful thing.
I have pretty much decided I´m going to do another season. Maybe in Cahuita. I was talking to Pablo, our coordinator about it and he just laughed at me and said ¨oooo you´re a turtle person´. And it´s fine, I recognize that yes I am a turtle person and I love those stupid creatures. They really are stupid. He kept telling me to be a coordinator there but THAT I am not sure of. I´m comfortable just being an assistant. Though I would like to be a coordinator, it would be good experience for any future jobs I want to apply to but I definetely need to get my spanish level a bit higher. That´s my main concern about that.
Still waiting for some hatchlings. Some unmarked nests have hatched but none of ours from the beginning of the season have done anything. I think most have been poached which is depressing. Thankfully the hatchery (best hatchery ever by the way) is done and we´ve been putting nests in there. Unfortunately though I won´t be able to see any of the hatchlings from there.
OH! On the collectivo back here I was listening to a bunch of men talking about a girl that just ran by and just laughed and shook my head then this guy turns to me and says ¨¿Es de España verdad?¨. To which I laughed and said No, Canada. But I was flattered that he thought I was from Spain.
Sept 14 I will be on my way to Panama. Absolutely can´t wait. It will be sad to leave the beauty of the Osa behind but I just want to start travelling. Plus the rain is coming and I think I will be getting out just in time to escape it. So glad I didn´t come Sept to Dec during the height of the rainy season.
